How to hide the auto-reconcile and Airwallex promos in Xero
By the DeclutterMe team · Last checked October 31, 2026
Xero has no setting to dismiss the auto-reconcile banner or the Airwallex pop-up. A browser extension is the only way to hide them.
Reconciling and paying bills are the jobs you do most in Xero. Both screens now carry promotions: a large banner suggesting you turn on auto-reconcile, and a pop-up for Airwallex bill payments when you click Make payment.
Where it shows up
- The auto-reconcile banner, a large bar at the top of the Reconcile page for each bank account. It comes back every time the page loads and can’t be dismissed even for the day.
- The Airwallex pop-up, which appears when you choose Make payment on bills. It appears on every payment attempt.

Can you turn it off in Xero?
No. We found no way to dismiss the banner, even for the day.
What Xero does offer is different:
- Auto-reconcile itself can be turned off for each bank account from the settings button on the Bank reconciliation screen. That controls the feature, not the banner suggesting you turn it on.
- The Bills list Action column can be hidden, as of September 2026. That hides the column, not the Airwallex pop-up.
For the Airwallex pop-up, we found no setting at all.
Hide them with DeclutterMe
DeclutterMe removes the auto-reconciliation promo on the Reconcile page and the Airwallex pop-up on Make payment. Your reconciliation, bank rules and payment options work as before, and if you’ve turned auto-reconcile on, it keeps running. DeclutterMe never hides failed-payment warnings, tax deadlines, security alerts or outage notices.
