Privacy policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Short version: DeclutterMe works entirely inside your browser. It looks at the page only to find what to hide, and never collects, stores or sends the content of your emails, accounting data, messages or any other page you visit.
What the extension does on your device
- On supported sites only (QuickBooks Online, Xero, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Gmail, Google Docs, Jira & Confluence, LinkedIn and YouTube) it hides page elements and, for a few fixes, clicks a switch for you (for example turning off YouTube autoplay).
- Some fixes read text on the page, such as a LinkedIn post or a heading, to decide whether to hide it. This happens locally and the text never leaves your device.
- When you open the DeclutterMe popup, it asks the current tab which of its fixes would find something there, to show "Found on this page". That check also runs only on your device, and only counts are passed to the popup.
- Your fix settings are saved with your browser's extension storage and, if you have browser sync turned on, synced by your browser provider across your own devices.
Network requests the extension makes
- Fix updates: about every six hours it downloads
declutterme.app/rules.json, a public list of updated fixes. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address to our hosting provider. We don't log it against any identity. - Licence checks: payments are handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe. The extension asks ExtensionPay whether your install has paid. If you buy Pro, ExtensionPay and Stripe process your email and payment details under their own privacy policies. We never see your card.
What we don't do
- No analytics or tracking inside the extension.
- No selling or sharing of data. There's no data to sell.
- No access to sites other than the ones listed above, declutterme.app and extensionpay.com. For Microsoft 365, that includes the Office document editor at officeapps.live.com.
This website
declutterme.app uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It only sets analytics cookies if you choose Accept in the cookie banner. Until then, and if you choose Decline, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode that sends basic, anonymous signals such as the page viewed, without identifying you between visits. Advertising features are always off. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
The extension itself contains no analytics. Nothing above applies to the apps you use it on.
If you send a request through our form or by email, we use your message and email only to reply and to tell you when your request ships.
